The Dales Way UK
- Duration: 10 Days (approx.)
- Location: Manchester
- Product code: DAL
Green rolling hills, cute as a button villages, and edgy arts districts.
Level 4: multi days of longer walking up to 8 hours, combination of country lanes, paddocks and rough tracks.
As a child I would sit expectantly in front of the TV at the end of the 7 o’clock ABC news waiting for my very favourite time of the week. At 7:30pm the merry music welcoming another episode of “All Creatures Great and Small” would commence and for the next 40 minutes I would be in heaven. Giggling along with Tristan, cross with Sigfred and his tempter and delighted by James “save the day” humble attitude. Many years past and the series has been revamped with new actors taking the place of old without compromising one bit of the fairy tale of life on the Dales as the vet in the gorgeous little town of Darrowby.
The best part of this childhood share is that Darrowby is a REAL place, Grassington and it is one of the quaint little villages we will pass through on GirlsTrek’s “The Dales Way”. The Dales Way crosses two national parks and takes you from the rugged magnificence of Yorkshire all the way to the majestic finery of the Lake District. This walk is full of diversity, beginning with lush meadowlands and black bordered moors of the Yorkshire Dales, to the luminous waters of Windermere and the splendour of the Lake District.
