in under 3 hours from East Coast Australia. Our trip has a wonderful balance of
being immersed in culture with the Kanak local tribes as their guests while we
trek through their lands on the Nord Track. Treading the ancient tribal trading
route we learn about their traditions and are absorbed in their understanding
of how to live with the land. We finish with some RnR at an Eco lodge with a French
feast and a quick stop to Noumea.


OVERVIEW:

Day 1: Arrive Noumea International airport, travel to Bourail 

Private transfer from airport to Eco lodge at Bourail. Time permitting a short coast walk on west coast.

Day 2: Commence GR Nord from Tchamba Tribe

20 km trek from Tchamba Tribe to St Thomas Tribe

Day 3: GR Nord

17 km Trek St Thomas Tribe to Pombei Tribe

Day 4: GR Nord

17 km Trek Pombei Tribe to Tiwae Tribe

Day 5: Travel to Hienghene (East Coast)

9 km Trek Roche de la Ouaieme overnight in Eco Lodge

Day 6: Travel to Hienghene  to Bourail

Travel down the East coast stopping at interesting sites, arrive luxury beach front accommodation

Day 7: Free Day

Free day for watersports, golf or a spa treatment? Opportunity for a short hike close by

Day 8: Departure day

Depart late morning after breakfast for international flight or onward journey.

Level 4: Walks are 8 hours per day at a faster pace, rough tracks with some scrambling. 
GirlsTrek trips are graded according to the length of hours out on the trails, the type of trails underfoot
and the fitness required to comfortably walk longer distances, on tougher terrain, for several days in a row. 

For our Level 4 trips, we request that you have the following experience/fitness to join:

Experience hiking a multi-day trek in the last 4 years that required you to walk for up to 8hrs per day on undulating terrain.

OR Experience hiking 2 x  GirlsTrek Level 3 trips in the past 4 years. 

AND 4-5 hours a week of regular consistent exercise that involves hiking / running or fast walking.
